Warwickshire Advantage agent enters administration

Stratford-upon-Avon travel agent Complete World Travel Limited ceased trading on Friday with the loss of eight jobs.

The Advantage member had been trading since 1995 and had an annual turnover of £5 million. Guy Mander and Bob Bailey, partners in Baker Tilly Restructuring and Recovery LLP, were appointed joint administrators to the company.

Mander said: “The Company has suffered from the various economic and geopolitical issues which have impacted on the travel sector over the last two to three years. These have led to a decline in overall consumer demand.

The final straw, however, was a bad debt of approximately £90,000 as a result of one of the Company’s major customers going into administration last month.

“The business has ceased to trade and the eight members of staff have been made redundant.

“On the information currently available, we are not aware of any customers who are stranded on trips at present.  However, we are liaising closely with Abta and the CAA in relation to any customers who may have pre-paid for future trips.

Baker Tilly said it was in discussions with interested parties but advised  customers seeking further information to contact Abta’s claims line on 0300 3031522 (for non-flight packages) or the CAA’s claims line on 0207 453 6350 (flight-inclusive packages).
