Serenity Holidays has reassured customers it is following Package Travel Regulations as uncertainty over holiday refunds continues.
The travel firm, which owns The Gambia Experience, Cape Verde Experience, Goa Experience, Corsican Places and Sardinian Places, said it was offering clients a full refund as well as the chance to rebook cancelled holidays to a later date in 2020 or in 2021, or receive a credit note to the value of their current booking.
All departures across the group’s brands have been cancelled until May 31, 2020.
Managing director Chris Ayling said: “We understand that not everyone is in a position to re-book their holidays at this time, and we are happy to refund these customers.”
He said the move had been welcomed by clients as the industry faces a backlash from holidaymakers on the issue.
He added: “We have been overwhelmed with the appreciative comments regarding our actions on refunds.”
“Our customers have always been at the heart of our operations, and we will continue to put them first. Throughout these difficult times, we continue to adhere strictly to the principles on which we were founded 33 years ago; we are a trusted and successful company with strong ethical values, and we pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service.”
Abta has asked the government to give travel firms longer than the legal limit of 14 days to repay refunds.
