SKIING IN FRANCE GETS UK PROMOTION
Inghams and the French Tourist Office are on the road this month, visiting five venues in the UK, from London to Dublin, promoting skiing in France. All venues will feature a ski slope, with opportunities to learn to ski and snowboard and win prizes. The FTO is also launching a Ski France Internet site in the New Year.
CRYSTAL TO LURE NEW YEAR CUSTOMERS
Crystal estimates that around 80% of the UK population have still not made arrangements to see in the New Year. It has launched a 20-page millennium brochure featuring products from Crystal Ski and has cut prices by £50 predominantly in its chalets and club hotels in France and Italy. Seven nights lead in at £499 in Bulgaria. Airtours is also offering discounts of up to £200 on selected destinations for those booking before October 31 with prices from £409 for one week in Andorra.
NEILSON TO OFFER HIRE OF SKI GEAR
Neilson is offering beginners the chance to hire ski gear to save people splashing out on equipment for a sport they may not enjoy. A complete outfit for adults costs around £49 or £29 for children. The price also includes delivery and collection to clients’ homes. Neilson has also produced a video telling beginners what to expect. The cost is £14.95 but is refundable if clients book a Neilson ski holiday.
MERISKI OFFERS NEW MERIBEL CHALETS
Luxury chalet specialist Meriski is offering two new chalets in Meribel, bringing the total to 13. Innovations include sending out a choice of two menus to clients in advance and the launch of a new ski club for seven to 12 year-olds costing £140 per child for six half-days. Children are picked up from the ski school to take part in activities such as swimming and climbing. Chalets start from £549 per person for one week.
