The UK’s largest independent travel management company Portman Travel has extended a deal with GetThere which gives the TMC preferred status to the online company’s self-booking tool technology.
In a separate arrangement, London-based TMC Grosvenor Travel has become a GetThere reseller.
Reseller status means TMCs can offer the GetThere self-booking tool to corporate clients as part of their travel management offerings.
Middle East and Africa director Jason Geall said: “These strategic agreements provide GetThere with valuable reach into the UK corporate travel market and reflect the importance we place in our TMC relationships and their value proposition to corporate customers.
“GetThere has experienced strong growth in EMEA over the past two years through the support we receive from the TMC and corporate travel community.
“These agreements also demonstrate how travel industry suppliers can work together to provide corporates with the most efficient and cost-effective technology to support their travel programmes.”
Portman Travel operations senior vice president John Dick said: “Corporate travel managers are under pressure to deliver efficient and cost effective travel policies.
“While TMCs are already working hard to provide incredible value through their expertise and many consulting services, being able to offer one of the industry’s leading self-booking tools improves the TMCs value even further.”
