EUROSTAR has promoted customer services director Gordon Bye to head the company’s UK operations as part of a management restructure.
His move follows the creation earlier this year of the Eurostar Group, an umbrella organisation covering all Eurostar business in the UK, France and Belgium.
Under the new centralised management structure, Bye will be responsible for improving Eurostar’s UK business, currently operating at a loss. Bye takes over from Hamish Taylor who was appointed chief executive officer of the Eurostar Group in March.
The new structure is expected to create greater efficiencies, generate faster decision-making, and help ensure consistency in product and service to Eurostar customers in all three markets.
Bye’s former position is being filled by Edward Bell, promoted from head of customer service delivery at London Waterloo.
