Kerzner International has revealed it is set to launch a dedicated wellness brand.
Kerzner, which currently operates One&Only, Atlantis The Palm and Mazagan, has been “incubating” a new proposition and brand.
Speaking during Aspire’s Leaders of Luxury conference, chief commercial officer Brett Armitage mentioned the new offering while discussing future growth and expansion plans across Kerzner brands.
He said: “We’ve actually been incubating a new brand. There’s a new brand in the Kerzner stable which will be announced shortly – it’s a wellness brand that is very different to One&Only.”
Armitage said he was unable to share further details on the project, but insisted there had been “no slow down” in the company’s “vision and strategy for growth”.
He said Kerzner’s collection of hotels would expand further, with two yet-to-be-announced One&Only management agreements scheduled for 2022 and plans to acquire “distressed assets and portfolios of hotels”.
“At the end of 2021, we have the second phase of Atlantis opening with Royal Atlantis in Dubai – just a small addition with 700 rooms,” Armitage added.
“Beyond that, there are three resorts that will open in 2022 – One&Only Kia in Greece and two more that we’re yet to announce.
“It’s really exciting times – our ownership is pushing us to look for distressed assets and portfolios of hotels we can acquire.”
One&Only has just opened its first property in Malaysia, will open an additional property in Mexico next month, and that will be followed by One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro, which was due to open this year but has been delayed until March 2021.
