Richard Bowden-Doyle has been installed as chairman of Titan Travel UK.
He has had a non-executive director role at the escorted touring operator’s parent company Saga Travel for almost four years.
News of his appointment at Titan came as sister Saga brand Destinology was acquired by Stewart Travel owner Brooklyn Travel Holdings for an undisclosed sum.
Bowden-Doyle has a long track record in travel, having started at marketing director for Lunn Poly in 1990 before becoming managing director of sister tour operation Thomson Holidays for five years.
He was also managing director of Thomas Cook brand Accoladia and lastminute.com.
Bowden-Doyle was chief executive of Neilson Active Holidays for almost tree years before taking up to position of chairman in 2016.
Titan Travel has moved to trust accounting with the Civil Aviation Authority in September to provide additional financial reassurance to agents and their customer.
