Scottish agents plan government protest

At least 150 Scottish travel agents and industry workers plan a protest outside Scotland’s parliament on Thursday.

They will be demanding that a “comprehensive and robust” airport testing system be put in place urgently and an end to quarantine restrictions for travellers.

The Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association will also lobby Holyrood in Edinburgh for targeted support for the beleaguered travel sector.

The SPAA will be highlighting the need for connectivity for the whole Scottish economy and not just for holidaymakers.

Aviation and tour operator representatives are due to participate in the “colourful, noisy, peaceful show of strength” about the lack of assistance for the travel industry in Scotland which supports 26,000 jobs.
