Cathay Pacific is offering Covid-19 insurance as part of its fares.
The airline has partnered with AXA Hong Kong to offer the cover, which will be automatically applied to all flights booked for travel from today to February 28, 2021.
Insurance covers medical expenses up to US$200,000 related to a Covid-19 diagnosis incurred whilst overseas, including Covid tests and hospitalisatio.
It also covers quarantine costs of up to US$100 per day per passenger for up to 14 days, evacuation and repatriation costs use of a 24/7 emergency hotline.
Customers are covered for a period of 30 days starting from the date of their departure, or until they return to their home, whichever is earliest.
As part of its Cathay Care peace of mind initiative, the airline has already implemented temperature checks, contactless boarding, antimicrobial coating on check-in counters, mandatory wearing of face coverings, enhanced cleaning on board and installed HEPA air filters.
