CroisiEurope offers first Vltava itinerary

CroisiEurope Cruises is offering a cruise itinerary on Vltava River for the first time next year.

The river cruise specialist’s paddlewheel ship Elbe Princess II will operate the itinerary, which starts and ends in Prague and call at towns and castles in the Bohemia region.

The Vltava is the longest river in the Czech Republic at 267-miles long, and merges with the Elbe and Melnik.

CroisiEurope’s cruise starts in Prague before sailing to Stechovice, famous for its gold mines and pottery. Guests can visit Konopiste Castle, the last home of Archduke Franz Ferdinand before his assassination which sparked the First World War as the vessel makes its way to the Slapy Reservoir at the foot of the Slapy Dam.

After sailing back to Prague and re-joining the river Elbe, the itinerary offers a call in the Czech capital before cruising onto Melnik, from where guests can take excursions to Dresden and Litomerice.

On the seventh and last full day guests can visit the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and the Konigstein Fortress before the ship returns to Prague on day eight for disembarkation.

Departures run weekly from June 14 to September 27, 2021. Prices begin at £2,723 per person for a seven-night cruise with all meals, drinks and excursions included.
