JG Travel Group sees ‘impressive surge’ in trade bookings

JG Travel Group has reported an “impressive surge” in trade bookings since travel agents opened their doors again after the England-wide lockdown.

The domestic specialist tour operator said there was an “immediate spike in sales through the trade” for both Just Go! Holidays and National Holidays since December 2 – with ‘triple-digit’ growth for passengers, bookings and revenue from December 2-8 compared with the previous week.

It said ‘themed’ breaks and holidays had proven popular, including the new I’m a Celebrity attraction opening in Manchester next year and concerts and events such as Celine Dion and FriendsFestive

The group has a £10 deposit scheme in place until Christmas Eve.

Claire Dutton, trade sales manager, said: “Once travel agency doors opened again, we were pleased to see an impressive surge in bookings from our agent partners.

“There’s been huge demand for events and attractions as people obviously want to book something fun for next year.

“We’ve also seen a lot of 2021 festive bookings for products such as The Polar Express. These sold-out events were sadly cancelled this year due to restrictions, so customers want to book early for next year to avoid missing out.”
