Tui advertising campaign says ‘nothing compares to real holiday’

Tui’s turn-of-year advertising campaign launches on Boxing Day, highlighting to consumers that ‘nothing compares to a real holiday’.

The messaging will also affirm the operator’s ‘Holiday Promise’ to reassure travellers and build confidence in the benefits of a package.

Katie McAlister, chief marketing officer at Tui, said: “We know that there’s appetite to travel so we’re here to remind them that nothing compares to an overseas holiday, and we’ll take away all the uncertainty, looking after our customers every step of the way.

“As a business we have fundamentally had to rethink how we do support our customers.”

She added: ‘We know it’s important to strongly communicate reassurance messages for customers, demonstrating that there is no better time to book a holiday, with our flexibility, Covid cover and standards guaranteed, and of course a refund if your holiday is unable to go ahead.

“Our Holiday Promise has evolved, and we continue to react to what our customers need.

“It’s been complex, and we’ve had to be extremely agile and often reactive with our marketing.

“We were the first tour operator to offer Covid cover; we know that people have responded well to this with seven in 10 people more likely to book if it’s offered, and we know that 89% of our customers are motivated by free changes, so it’s important we continue to get that message out as people look to book their future holidays.

“This year more than ever I think we’ve all realised how important holidays are for both our mental and physical wellbeing – from having something to look forward to which gets you through the long, winter nights, to total relaxation and being able to truly recharge whilst you’re away.”

From Boxing Day, customers can have free changes on bookings made up until February 28 on holidays departing between May 1 October 31, up to 21 days before departure.

Covid cover is included on all new bookings made in January and February for departures before April 31.

There are also low deposits, direct debit payment options and thousands of free kids’ places.

Tui was the first travel brand to return to TV advertising when it launched its ‘welcome back’ campaign in the summer after international travel recommenced.
