The threatened Easter strike by ground handling staff at Stansted airport has been suspended as talks between the GMB and Unite unions and Swissport continue.
A statement released after today’s talks said: “We are pleased that passengers and families travelling over the Easter weekend will no longer face potential disruption.
“We will continue our talks in an attempt to reach a joint consensus that ensures we understand our commercial challenges and balance the need for the work life balance of our employees.”
GMB members had voted to strike in a dispute over shifts which it says will leave its members £1,000 out of pocket.
