Take Off in Travel will help find travel talent of future

Travel Weekly is launching a new magazine to showcase careers in the travel industry.

The new prospectus-style magazine, called Take Off in Travel, will be produced in partnership with Abta, the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality, People 1st, Training for Travel and Travel Uni.

It will be published this autumn and will be sent to schools, colleges and universities to champion the wealth of career opportunities available in the travel and tourism sector.

Lucy Huxley, Travel Weekly Group editor-in-chief, said: “As an independent media company devoted entirely to travel, we have a commitment to the long-term success of the industry.

“We believe Take Off in Travel will provide a crucial link between today’s industry and its future.”

She added: “We are delighted the leading firms and organisations in training and development will be working with us on this project, and with their help we will ensure that Take Off in Travel is an outstanding companion to the excellent work they are all doing to attract and nurture the very best talent.”

The first Take Off in Travel magazine and accompanying digital edition already has the support of leading travel companies.

The publication date was selected on the advice of Take Off’s expert partners as it coincides with students considering their further education and career options, and a number of high-profile industry events including World Travel Market and Abta’s Travel Convention.

In addition to distribution through colleges and universities, the first edition of Take Off in Travel will be offered to branches of Job Centre Plus, close to major transport hubs.
