QATAR Airways is launching a marketing club in the UK to promote its new daily flights to Kathmandu.
The Adventure Club will target holidaymakers, mountaineers and trekkers from the UK and mainland Europe.
Mountaineer Sir Chris Bonnington has been recruited by Qatar Airways as honourary president of the club.
Details of the new marketing body are being kept under wraps until they are unveiled in London on September 15 by Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker and Bonnington.
The airline currently operates daily flights from Heathrow to the Qatari capital Doha using three-class Airbus A300s, feeding onto its four weekly departures to Kathmandu on the smaller A320s.
With few air services between Europe and the Nepalese capital, Qatar believes there are huge opportunities with additional UK capacity.
