Italian airport strike threat to services

Flights to and from Italy today face the threat of disruption due to a strike by airport workers.

European ATC body Eurocontrol said ATC services will not be affected. “Some disruption may be expected in other airport services, handlers, catering etc,” it said.

EasyJet was forced to cancel 14 flights to and from Milan Malpensa airport and warned of possible problems at Venice. “Our flights to and from Milan Linate are unaffected by this action,” the airline said.

“There is also potential for some disruption in Venice, which could cause delays to our services. We therefore recommend passengers check the status of their flight before departing to the airport.”
