H&O manager Mills ‘left by mutual agreement’

HOME and Overseas management has claimed business development manager Martin Mills left the company “by mutual agreement”.

A spokesman said his departure (Travel Weekly August 23) followed the appointment of Ann Akers who has just taken on the role of managing director, replacing Mick Jacobs who has retired.

“Ann has got to grips with her new role and is changing a few things,” said the spokes- man. “There is a slightly different culture than before. As a result, Martin and Ann came to an agreement that it was time for him to move on.”

Mills, who had worked for the company for 25 years, is not believed to have another job to go to.

Meanwhile, sales development manager Seb Goldin, who left to join Hertz, has been replaced by Colin McPhie.

McPhie was formerly a national accounts development executive at Zurich, H&O’s parent company.

H&O’s other sales development manager, Jayne Thomson, has taken a break from her job in order to travel, but she is expected to return in around three months.
