TRANSUN DAY BREAKS TO FEATURE CRACOW
Transun has added Cracow and Riga to its autumn European Day Breaks programme. Riga is offered from Leeds/Bradford on November 6; Birmingham on November 13; Aberdeen on November 26; and Cardiff on November 27 all from £149. Cracow is offered from Birmingham on November 20 at £169.
VILNIUS RADISSON TO REOPEN IN FEBRUARY
The turn-of-the-century Radisson SAS Astorija inVilnius, Lithuiania, will double in size to 120 rooms when an adjacent wing opens in February. A 120-seat conference room is also planned.
NEW BODY TO OVERSEE POLISH TOURISM
Poland is to have a new umbrella body covering the promotion of tourism in the country. The Polish Tourism Organisation will come into being on January 1 2000.
OPERA BREAKS GET PUSH FROM FREGATA
Fregata is to drop Croatia’s capital Zagreb and Poznan in Poland next year. The operator will extend its opera breaks programme to Vienna, Moscow and St Petersburg and add a Romania tour; it also plans to introduce Uzbekistan.
SPIRITED EFFORT FOR HYATT IN WARSAW
Hyatt is to manage its first hotel in Poland, the Hyatt Regency Warsaw. The250-room city-centre hotel, costing £40m, is due to open next to the Russian Embassy in 2001. One feature of the property will be a bar which claims to sell Europe’s largest range of vodkas.
