EasyJet adds three new routes from Stansted

Marrakech, Sharm el Sheikh and Sofia will be served as new routes by EasyJet from Stansted next year.

The airline will also move a larger 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft to Stansted in 2013.

EasyJet will fly year-round flights to Marrakech three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from February 15.

Sharm el Sheikh will be served year-round with twice weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays from February 17.

The Sofia route will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays from February 16.

The additions mean that EasyJet’s 2013 summer schedule from Stansted covers 1.7 million seats on 10,900 flights to 27 routes across Europe and North Africa.

UK commercial manager Hugh Aitken said: “EasyJet is committed to making travel easy and affordable for all and each season we decide where to add new flights based on the places our customers tell us they most want to visit, so I’m sure these three new summer sun destinations are going to be a huge hit with holidaymakers.

“Currently, easyJet operates three mid-haul routes from Stansted to Bodrum, Dalaman and Fuerteventura so today’s announcement shows a real commitment to offering more varied destinations further afield, and the best value for our passengers.”
