Tui Travel is in talks with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) about extending its new charter service to Phuket to regional airports in the UK.
The operator announced last week that it would fly one of its new Boeing 787 Dreamliners to Phuket from Gatwick from November 2013.
TAT has confirmed it is in talks about adding flights from regional airports. Chris Lee, Tui Travel trade marketing manager, said: “Flying to Phuket will be a boost for the family market. Some operators feature the family product, but there’s nothing like competition.”
