Broadway consortium granted Atol Flight-Plus status

Broadway Travel’s new consortium been given Accredited Body status by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The move means members can sell Atol protected holidays without the need for their own licence.

The consortium, which was set up in July by managing director Adam Pardini and finance director Jill Gardner, has also signed up its second member Yourholidays.com, which will join in January.

The Guildford-based call centre and online agency is formerly a member of the Hays Independence Group and turns over more than £20 million a year.

Hampshire-based online agent 2bookaholiday agreed to become the first member in August and will join officially next month.

Pardini said: “We have had a very positive response and are in talks with six other potential members.

“However, the whole idea is not to have hundreds of members and be very selective. People are approaching us because of our technology, our depth of product and because we are in tune with this style of business.”

The consortium is to hold its first annual conference in Portugal on November 28.

“We have 15 suppliers doing presentations, networking sessions and discussions about the strategic way forward,” said Pardini.
