Suspect named in Barbados cruise shooting

A man charged with shooting a British couple during a robbery in Barbados on a world cruise has been named.

Junior Orlando Hunte, 28, of Rices, St Philip, Barbados, has been charged with robbing Ann Prior and causing serious bodily harm to her and her husband Philip Prior.

A second man, Marlon Gooding, 35, of Union, St Philip, Barbados, has been charged with robbing Mrs Prior.

They appeared at the Oistins Magistrate Court and were remanded in custody.

The couple from Suffolk were attacked in Bridgetown on March 17 during a call by the P&O Cruises ship Adonia.

Mr Prior was hit on his left side and his wife was shot in her right thigh.

The two cruise passengers re-joined the cruise four days later in St Kitts after being released from hospital. The ship is due back in Southampton on April 3.
