SWISSAIR marketing manager for the UK and Ireland, Wayne Miller, has quit his position.
The airline said Miller had secured another job, but he had not disclosed what company he would be working for when handing in his notice. He was understood to be planning to have some time off before starting the job.
Swissair is seeking a temporary replacement for Miller internally but the position is set to be affected by the implementation of joint operations with Sabena over the next year (Travel Weekly July 5).
More details of the airline’s plans are expected this October, and the process is expected to be completed by June 1 2000. Joint operations are expected to save the carriers £100m annually.
Meanwhile, Swissair has recruited Stansted Airport’s business development manager Janet Morris as its new leisure sales manager. She replaces Hazel Ford, who is to become the airline’s marketing and sales manager in Australia.
