ITE co-founder Amanda Taylor leaves travel to become a florist

A co-founder of the Independent Travel Experts has left the company to pursue a career as a florist.

Amanda Taylor set up homeworking group ITE with Paula Turner in September 2011.

Her co-founder Paul Turner and her colleague Lisa Higgins will continue to run the business.

Former homeworker Taylor initially undertook the company’s PR and marketing but then decided to leave ITE altogether.

Gary Lewis, managing director of the Travel Network Group, said: “We appointed Lisa Henning to come in and run the operational side of ITE and Amanda took the move into doing PR and marketing.

“She has since left the business to re-train as a florist and pursue her career in areas outside the travel industry. We have made our members aware of the changes.

“Amanda did a great job for us in helping to establish ITE, which is today trading very successfully. Paula Turner is still very much at the helm of the business and continues to be the main interface with members.”

Taylor said: “I have enjoyed 30 great years in the travel industry, but my passion has always been in horticulture and floristry. Over the past few weeks I have established a co-operative for local craftspeople and am thoroughly enjoying my new career.”

ITE currently has 72 homeworkers, with hopes of further growth by the end of the year.
