Gatwick returning to normality after terminal shutdown

Gatwick flights have returned to normal after a power failure effectively shut down the South Terminal yesterday.

EasyJet was forced to switch services temporarily to the North Terminal due to the blackout.

The power outage led to chaos from lunchtime yesterday with passengers left stuck in departure lounges.

EasyJet said at 9.30pm last night: “The power supply for the South Terminal in London Gatwick has been fully restored.

“Normal operations will be resumed from both terminals for Thursday 17th October. Please arrive at the terminal which is shown on your booking details/boarding card.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this disruption may have caused you and thank you for your patience.”
