GOLD Medal Travel has renewed its contract with global distribution system provider Galileo for a further three years.
The seat consolidator uses Galileo’s Inside Access product which allows reservation staff to get through to Galileo and check availability, which is then displayed on the desktop of sales consultants.
The enhancements to the product, including the provision of extra fares, are due to be rolled out within the next 12 months. The company also uses Galileo’s Focal Point. This allows staff to go straight into the Galileo system, bypassing the company’s own reservation system.
Gold Medal Information Technology director Andy Greene said the GDS supplier has been instrumental in easing the move the operator is making from its Blackpool base to Preston. The two companies have been working together for the last seven years.
