Trevor Davis has left Barrhead Travel after seven months with the company.
Davis joined from Thomas Cook in June last year as business development director and was tasked with raising the profile of the Scottish-based Barrhead Travel group.
Barrhead confirmed Davis had left the company. According to Davis’ LinkedIn profile, he left last month and is now working on an “exciting new project for the travel and tourism industry”.
Davis came up with the concept for Barrhead’s Brilliant Travel brand, which launched last August and has been used to extend the group’s reach into England. Brilliant Travel is the umbrella brand for the company’s home-based travel advisers, managed service branches and travel rewards programme.
Davis, a former retail director of The Co-operative Travel, said at the time that he had been drawn to Barrhead because of its passion, team ethic, and leading technology.
In a statement Barrgead said “following amicable discussions, Barrhead Travel confirmed that Trevor Davis has left the business having completed the launch of the Brilliant Travel project.
“Barrhead Travel is now talking to various people about driving the continued growth of Brilliant Travel and building on Trevor’s good work.”
Barrhead Travel chief executive, Sharon Munro, said, “We are very grateful for Trevor’s contribution to the business since he joined us in June 2013 to oversee the launch of the Managed Service and Homeworking Division, Brilliant Travel.
“Most recently Trevor was involved in the development of our corporate division, Business Travel Solutions. We wish him all the very best in the future.”
The statement went on to quote Davies who said his time at Barrhead Travel had been “immensely enjoyable” and that the group was in good shape for continued and profitable growth.
He added: “I would like to thank Bill and Sharon Munro for giving me the opportunity to work with their team and make a contribution to the company’s success. I now look forward to launching my own business, using my 35 plus years’ experience in the travel and leisure industry.”
