Former Cook and Affinion boss to take reins at Holiday Malta

A shake-up in senior management at Holiday Malta has seen James Coughlan, formerly of Affinion International Travel, join the company.

Chief executive Martin Zahra is moving to the international shore operations division of parent company, Malta-based shipping, tourism, insurance and travel business SMS Group.

Former Affinion International Travel vice president Coughlan will assume day-to-day operations of Holiday Malta, including Belleair Holidays. For the last year Coughlan has been working on various projects within the private equity sector.

He is being joined by David Green, formerly of Thomas Cook Group, as a director and shareholder in the business.

They will also be responsible for the company’s other strategic interests in the UK.

Coughlan previously held various senior roles at Thomas Cook including head of retail sales.
