INTER-CONTINENTAL Hotels and Resorts has launched a 24hr computer support service aimed at the business traveller.
The service, called CyberAssist, is being implemented worldwide following a successful trial in Asia.
When business travellers check in they are met by a CyberAssist co-ordinator who offers assistance in setting up the guest’s computer, connecting it to the hotel’s telephone and power systems.
The co-ordinator has a knowledge of the popular word-processor and spreadsheet packages which are used around the world, Web-browser applications, e-mail, the Internet and scanners.
The co-ordinator is also on hand to help at business meetings, lectures which are given with the use of technology and conventions. A spokesman for Inter-Continental said:”The majority of our guests are business travellers and many travel with a computer. This service has been designed to make business travel less stressful.”
