n DER travel service wins lufthansa award



Lufthansa has namedcentral London-based DERTravel Service as top tour operator for 1999. The airline’s general manager UKand Ireland Eric Burgoyne gave the firm the award in recognition for its Lufthansa sales. DER is currently working on a millennium programme and launches a Germany and Austria 2000 brochure in early autumn.



n BCP deal provides exclusive facilities



Airport car-parking specialists BCP has signed deals with lounge providers to make exclusive departure facilities available. Use of a lounge costs £15.95 at regional airports, Gatwick and Stansted and £17.95 at Heathrow. Airports covered include Manchester, Newcastle and Edinburgh.



n manx airlines cuts prices for under-22s



Manx Airlines is offering passengers under the age of 22 special low deals to the Isle of Man. Prices lead in at £59 from Manchester and Liverpool, with other fares from £69 ex-Birmingham, Glasgow and Leeds/Bradford – £79 from Heathrow. The offer runs until September 30.

$1bn terminal at JFK



American Airlines is to build a $1bn new terminal at New York JFK. The 59-gate facility is scheduled to open in seven years. It will be able to handle 14m passengers a year and replace American’s existing terminals.



n JET AIRWAYS rolls out new pas for uk clients



Indian carrier Jet Airways has rolled out a new regional air pass for UK passengers planning visits to the sub-continent. For $300, customers can travel to various points in India over a seven-day period. The airline also offers 14 and 21-day passes.
