WTM 2014: Big Bus Tours London launches first training course

The first UK trade training course for sightseeing firm Big Bus Tours London has been created via Online Travel Training (OTT).

The training is due to go live after World Travel Market next month.

The company will be showcasing the course at the exhibition on its stand UKI301 as part of a plan to work more closely with the travel trade throughout 2015.

Travel agents have become an increasingly important distribution channel with the growth of domestic tourism and an increase in visitors to London.

The company offers a commission structure of 20%-plus, depending on the amount of business generated. Family tickets lead in at £60.

The OTT course will help agents find the best way to generate revenue and give them a host of tools to help make sales.

Big Bus Tours London sales and marketing manager, Bernice Windley, said: “The trade is fast catching on to the importance of domestic tourism sales, and London is undoubtedly one of the biggest domestic tourism draws.

“We know there is no better way to see and learn about London than from the top of one of our buses and this course will help the trade understand this too.”

OTT business development manager, Sean McCafferty, said: “We are proud to start working with Big Bus Tours London who will grow and strengthen their relationship with the UK trade by creating an OTT course.

“Here they will reward and incentivise the trade as well as provide an exciting and informative training course.

“OTT will provide a freely accessible trade portal where agents can learn about everything Big Bus Tours London has to offer their customers.”
