Carpass bids to boost business through trade

idaymakers do not decide they need transport until they arrive.

The product, called Spanish Carpass, provides customers with greater flexibility by selling car-hire vouchers through the trade which can be swapped for a car anytime during the holiday or redeemed if not used.

Carpass general manager Larry Ursich explained: “The vast majority of people going to Spain find a car on their own once they get there because they don’t want to commit themselves to paying for one before they decide if they need it.

This way agents can offer car hire with the added bonus of offering clients the option to get their money back if they don’t need a car.”

Agents will sell booklets of three vouchers, each worth £25. A booklet will entitle the holder to three days’ car hire. The commission on the booklets is 10%.

Following a sales, agents call Carpass with the numbers of the vouchers sold. Carpass gives the agent a reference number which is written on the vouchers.

The company does not need to take any of the customers’ details.

Agents collect the gross amount from the customer and is then invoiced for the net amount by Carpass.

The client can use the vouchers at 54 locations around Spain and the same rate applies in all seasons.

RENTAL company Carpass has introduced a voucher system to encourage agents to sell more car hire.

The company claims agents are missing out on the chance to earn commission because 60% of the cars rented to UK clients going to Spain are actually booked and paid for in resort. This is due to the fact many holidaymakers do not decide they need transport until they arrive.
