Barrhead Travel commercial director Sue Jarvis is to leave the business after just 12 months due to family reasons.
Jarvis, who joined the Scottish agency last December after 11 years at Hays Travel, has decided it is no longer possible to travel to Glasgow on a Monday to Thursday basis and work from home in Sunderland on a Friday.
A Barrhead spokesman said: “We fully appreciate and understand Sue’s position. She has been a valued member of the Barrhead Travel team and we will miss her knowledge and experience tremendously.
“It’s not unusual for senior staff members to travel from England to Scotland every week and we currently have four others doing this.
“We have enjoyed working with Sue very much and wish her well in the future. The Barrhead Travel door remains open should she ever decide to move to Scotland permanently.”
Jarvis said: “I have enjoyed my time at Barrhead Travel and it is with sadness that I am leaving the company to move back to the northeast due to family reasons.”
