Operator in Islands move

JERSEY-based ferry company Channel Hoppers has launched a new passenger-only catamaran service between Torquay, Jersey and Alderney.

The operator’s vessel Varangerfjord, with a capacity of 208 passengers, makes a round trip once a day to Jersey and three times a week to Alderney. The journey time is 3hrs to Jersey and 5hrs to Alderney. A day trip costs from £29 per person, while a two-night short break including accommodation starts at £69.

Channel Hoppers is using the Channel Islands’ non-European Union status as a selling point. Duty-free will still be available on the route after it is abolished on most other routes out of the UK.

The company operates one other route between Southampton, Jersey and Alderney.

It offers agents 10% basic commission.
