Merlin Entertainments is developing a new attraction at its Thorpe Park Resort based on the hit TV show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
The jungle-based attraction is already in development and us due to open in late March at the Surrey theme park.
A maze will transport visitors through an interactive jungle adventure featuring challenge chambers, caves, tunnels and corridors.
Thorpe Park Resort holds exclusivity of the new attraction across all theme parks in the UK, and the ITV show’s presenters Ant and Dec will support the marketing campaign.
The show returned on ITV for the fourteenth time last year and averaged more than 10 million viewers throughout the series.
Merlin chief development officer, Mark Fisher, said: “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is the perfect fit for Thorpe Park Resort and its family and young adult visitors.
“It is challenging, edgy and above all fun. We are delighted to be working with the ITV team and to be the first and only UK theme park to have an I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! maze.
“I am confident it will be very popular with all our visitors; and hope to continue to build our relationship with ITV going forward.”
ITV commercial brand partnerships director, Claire Heys, said: “The I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! franchise is perfect for a theme park setting, and we are delighted to be working with Merlin Entertainments to launch the new attraction at Thorpe Park later this year.”
