Creative Travellers eyes expansion after Featonby appointment

The Travel Village Group’s homeworking division Creative Travellers is looking to expand following the appointment of Laura Featonby as business development manager.

Featonby, who continues to run her own homeworking travel agency Laura’s Travel, quit Independent Travel Experts – the homeworking arm of The Travel Network Group – earlier this year to join Creative Travellers.

The company was launched last year by managing director Phil Nuttall, who owns specialist cruise agency The Cruise Village. Creative Travellers currently has five homeworkers.

Homeworkers sell all types of holidays, rather than specialising just in cruise.

Featonby said: “If we got to 20 it would be a nice number but it’s not about numbers. We are looking to recruit but they don’t have to have been homeworkers before.

“We prefer them to have some retail experience and be self-starters. Creative Travellers has a real family feel and being the size we are we can act quickly, for example if homeworkers need some marketing materials.”

There are no joining fees and homeworkers receive their own laptop, she added. It is a member of The Co-op Consortium, part of The Midcounties Co-operative.
