Ryanair April figures soar

Ryanair continued its strong momentum in April with a 16% rise in passenger carryings to 9 million.

This gave Europe’s leading low-cost carrier a rolling 12 month total of 91.8 million passengers.

The load factor in April jumped by seven percentage points year-on-year to 91%.

Chief marketing officer, Kenny Jacobs, cited the carrier’s ‘Always Getting Better’ customer service initiatives and lower fares for the increased carryings.

“Ryanair’s April traffic grew by 16% to 9 million customers, while our load factor jumped by 7% points to 91%, thanks to our lower fares, our stronger forward bookings and the continuing success of our ‘Always Getting Better’ customer experience improvement programme, which continues to deliver better than expected load factors on our significantly expanded summer schedule,” he said.

“Alongside our new routes, increased frequencies, Business Plus and Family Extra services, Ryanair customers can now look forward to further service enhancements, as we roll out year two of our ‘Always Getting Better’ programme in 2015, which includes a new website, new app, new cabin interiors, new crew uniforms, improved in-flight menus, reduced fees, and great new digital features such as ‘hold the fare’ and price comparison services.”
