Universal Orlando Resort reveals first pictures of new Harry Potter ride

Universal Orlando Resort has shared the first pictures of its recreation of the British Ministry of Magic that will be the setting for the new Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride.

Opening on May 22, 2025, at Universal Epic Universe, the attraction will be found within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

The ride will feature storytelling from the Warner Bros. Pictures Harry Potter films as it takes holidaymakers to witness the trial of the infamous Dolores Umbridge.

Guests will journey from wizarding Paris to the ministry via the Métro-Floo into the lobby of the Ministry of Magic.

The atrium of the ministry will feature a restored Fountain of Magical Brethren statue, an enchanted weather ceiling and offices from floor to ceiling – as guests discover that their visit falls on the same day that Dolores Umbridge will stand trial for her crimes against the wizarding world.

Other features include the ministry reception, Dolores Umbridge’s office where guests will meet her former house-elf Higgledy, and details such as the latest edition of the Daily Prophet and belongings of characters from the films.

Guests will board a “magical, omnidirectional lift” that seats up to 14 to travel up, down, forward, backward, sideways and more throughout the ministry.

Umbridge can be seen as she attempts to escape her trial and dodging attacks from the Death Eaters.

Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry will open at Epic Universe on May 22, 2025, as one of many experiences in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

The third instalment of Universal Orlando’s Harry Potter-themed lands will also include a new live show, Le Cirque Arcanus, inspired by the Fantastic Beasts films, plus themed dining and retail experiences.
