PORTMAN Travel has conducted a survey among its business travel clients over their use of technology on business trips.
The results revealed that over 45% of respondents regularly use a computer in their hotel room, but would rather take their own laptops than pay the extra costs to use the hotel’s facilities. Of the respondents, 47.4% said they would consider selecting a hotel with PCs in the room, but only 6.6% said they would definitely use it.
Most of those surveyed did not believe their company would pay the extra cost to have access to a PC in the hotel room – and many believe the cost of £15 per hour is too high.
Business travellers are also concerned about the threat of viruses and issues of data protection, both during transmission and after leaving the hotel.
