Eurostar steps up business travel services

EUROSTAR is launching a new range of services for business travellers.

New features include a reduced check-in time of 10mins for flexible ticket holders; a dedicated check-in; booking and ticket exchange line for customers; new ticket exchange facilities; and improved taxi access at terminals.

The second phase of improvements scheduled for next year include the refurbishment of executive lounges at London Waterloo, Paris Gare du Nord and Brussels Midi.

In 2003, journey times will be cut by 20mins, so it will take 2hrs 35mins to reach Paris and 2hrs 20mins to Brussels following the completion of the first stage of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Despite tough competition from low-cost airlines and the strength of the pound, Eurostar revenue increased by 6% to £393m last year, up from £371.7m in 1998.
