Bryson appointed to in-house retail role

LUNN POLY buying director David Bryson has been appointed by Thomson Travel Group to concentrate on expanding its retail brands.

Bryson, in the newly created role of purchasing director, will focus on possible acquisitions for the group’s UK retail development division.

Lunn Poly buying controller Mark Pritchard has been promoted to head of buying in the wake of Bryson’s departure. There are no plans to replace Pritchard, who reports directly to managing director Nigel David.

A spokesman said Bryson was involved in the acquisition of Welsh agency chain Travel House and has the necessary experience to build both the Lunn Poly network and regional brands. Thomson wants to increase its retail presence by 50% as it looks to push more sales of Thomson products through in-house retailers.
