Princess Cruises to woo passengers with Hannah Waddingham ads

Travel agents are urged to get on board with Princess Cruises’ ‘Love Boat’ campaign, which stars Hannah Waddingham and launches on Valentine’s Day.

The award-winning actor and musical theatre star will feature in “Love Boat by Hannah”, which will make its live TV debut in the UK on February 14.

In the advert, Waddingham sings the theme song from The Love Boat, the hit ABC series that ran from 1977 to 1986.

The 30-second ad will air nationwide from February 14 to March 16 during peak times on ITV1, ITV Digital, Channel 4, Channel 4 Digital, and Sky Media.

It will be seen during the breaks of shows such as Coronation Street, Dancing on Ice, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, and Come Dine with Me.

Hays Travel will be using the ad across its social media and brand TV screens from March 3 through to March 16.

Princess Cruises said the Valentine’s Day launch “reinforces” its reputation for romance.

In 2024, Waddingham was named godmother of Sun Princess, the newest addition to the Princess Cruises fleet.

Other godmothers for the cruise line include the likes of Diana, Princess of Wales, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren.
