Capital to stand alone in short-break revamp

separated off the London one because they have become so popular.

“Increasingly people are booking our theatre break product and we are also selling a New Millennium Experience package with visits to the Dome.”

National Express claimed the separate London series was prompted by a 36% rise in capital bookings.

The Europe Short Breaks brochure now features Paris, Amsterdam, Bruges, Brussels and new additions Ostend and Dublin with a choice of 42 hotels. Dublin previously had its own brochure.

The programme has also been designed to make it easier for agents to take bookings, with a simplified price structure based on the three zonal fare bands of England, Scotland and Wales. The previous price structure had eight zonal divisions.

Prices lead in at £59 per person to Amsterdam including return travel with National Express and Eurolines and one night’s accommodation.

A new product manager has also been appointed to head up the new programme.

Sarah Cobham takes on the new role, with responsibility for the full range of National Express holiday products including Britain and London short breaks and airport stopovers.

Cobham said the new brochure caters for the growing demand for flexibility.

“This shows that the unique combination of hotel breaks with flexible travel from anywhere in the UK is becoming increasingly popular with our customers,” she added.
