Cox and Kings launches special-events brochure

Specialist Cox and Kings has launched a dedicated millennium brochure featuring special events to celebrate 2000, including royal gala dinners hosted by the Maharajas of India.

The brochure, called Millennium: By Invitation Only, features a total of 16 itineraries with tours in India, Jordan, and Nepal as well as city breaks in Milan, Madrid, Moscow and Prague.

The brochure contains four separate leaflets each detailing the millennium events in India at Manvar, Jodpur, Udaipur and southern India.

For example, in Udaipur guests will join a procession from the City Palace to the Royal Residence for cocktails. Dinner is held in the Durbar Hall followed by a firework display.

Senior product manager Charlie Ridout said:”We wanted to promote the millennium celebrations in India in particular because it will be one of the most exciting places to be. We also wanted to highlight the fact that these events are exclusive to Cox and Kings.”

Other special events include a helicopter tour of Mount Everest as part of a six-day tour of Nepal and an evening at the Bolshoi theatre included in a five-day Moscow break.

The operator has set a capacity of 30 people per tour but will be offering customers who book tailor-made holidays over the Christmas period the chance to add one of the millennium celebrations on to their own tours. “The special events can be fitted to any itinerary. We wanted to make it as flexible as possible,” said Ridout.

Brochure prices start at £1,395 per person for the 10-day India Experience II starting in Delhi and visiting Jairur and Agra with scheduled flights on Emirates. City breaks start at £955 for five nights in Prague staying at the Hotel Pariz.

The millennium holidays will also be featured in the operator’s 1999/2000 India and Beyond brochure due out in July.
