THE Australian Tourist Commission has joined forces with Partnership Australia to develop a national tourism data warehouse.
The service will allow members of the public to gain information on a variety of regions over the Internet. It is expected to be launched next year.
Tourism Queensland director of marketing and Partnership Australia spokesman Alex de Waal said: “It will be a one-stop shop distribution warehouse of products and information. Currently all states and territories have their own databases of information driving their own Web sites and information services.
“This project will enable consumers to search across all Australian product and destination information, regardless of state boundaries across a range of criteria. It will also be of use to suppliers and travel agents.”
