Wales puts itself on the map for UK business educationals

I write in response to Stephen Tomlinson’s letter, (Travel Weekly May 10), regarding the lack of education al familiarisation trips for ‘genuine conference organisers and influencers’.

Stephen makes particular reference to agents/organisers having poor knowledge of both venues and geography in the UK. The business travel department at the Wales Tourist Board understands this problem due to the large variety of venues and contrasting regions Wales has to offer.

We identify the need for education, and in part address this by attending the key travel trade and conference exhibitions throughout the year, as well as operating educationals at regular intervals.

Our next educational will take place on July 8-10 in south Wales, where invitees will visit venues in Cardiff, Swansea and Newport. For information, visit the Wales Tourist Board’s stand at the Meetings and Incentive Travel Exhibition in London in June.
