Jet2.com has embarked on a major recruitment drive to recruit nearly 1,000 new staff in the UK.
The airline, the fourth largest registered airline in the UK, is hosting road shows nationwide in its bid to find employees to fill cabin crew, pilot and engineering roles as it looks to invest in its next growth phase.
The road shows will be held at various airports and locations across the UK throughout September to recruit 700 cabin crew, more than 180 pilots and fill over 80 engineering positions. Jet2.com staff will attend the road shows to give potential recruits information on the various roles and have informal chats.
The move follows the addition of an eighth UK base for the airline in Birmingham, with flights starting in 2017, and the acquisition of 30 new B737-800 aircraft over the next two years.
Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “We have exciting plans to expand the number of destinations we fly to, as well as the number of UK bases we fly from, and this means that our team is growing all the time too.”
The airline hopes to attract cabin crew with a flexible approach who are passionate about customer service, while the pilot roles are aimed at those with commercial or military flying experience. The company is looking to recruit B737 and B757 type rated and non type rated captains and first officers. The engineering roles are to ensure flights operate safely and include office-based roles.
The airline has more than 63 aircraft flying on more than 200 routes to destinations in the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and European cities.
