The doors have opened to the world’s first Bollywood-inspired theme park as part of the giant new Dubai Parks and Resorts complex.
Bollywood Parks Dubai follows the unveiling of Legoland Dubai and Riverland Dubai two weeks ago at the Gulf’s largest integrated theme park destination.
The latest addition features rides and attractions based on some of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters.
The park opened yesterday with a ceremony that included various live entertainment performed by Bollywood artists and dancers.
Bollywood Parks Dubai covers five zones – Bollywood Boulevard, Mumbai Chowk, Rustic Ravine, Royal Plaza and Bollywood Film Studios.
Visitors will experience the action, story-telling and dance sequences inspired by nine popular Indian films: Rock On!!, Don, Lagaan, Sholay, Dabangg, Mughal-e-Azam, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, RA.One and Krrish.
The 850-seater Rajmahal Theatre is home to a separately ticketed Broadway-style, Bollywood-themed show.
During the day, the park will have up to 20 live shows across five stages: Rock On!!, Crossroads, Mumbai Express, Rangmanch and Stars on Steps. The park will also offer six themed restaurants and eight shops.
Bollywood Parks Dubai is one of three theme parks in the resort, following the opening of Legoland Dubai and the shopping and dining Riverland Dubai central area.
These will be followed by Motiongate Dubai, showcasing characters from DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate.
Six Flags Dubai, expected to open in late 2019, will be the destination’s fourth theme park and the region’s first Six Flags theme park.
