TV TRAVEL Shop has taken 150,000 bookings in its first year of trading.
Managing director Harry Goodman said the figures put the channel on target to achieve 600,000 annual bookings in four years.
To cope with extra bookings the channel has expanded its 24hr call-centre to 300 staff from 50.
Goodman, speaking at TVTravel Shop’s first anniversary last Thursday, claimed the growth in business puts the channel on course to capture 10% market share.
New options for interactive booking are currently on trial, with 87.5%-owner Flextech, TVTravel Shop’s channel provider. The system will allow customers to book with a consultant live on television screens using a remote control handset.
