Recreation: Lake Murray near Columbia offers excellent fishing, as well as Lake Jocassee along the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Nearer Charleston, the joining of the Santee and Cooper rivers provides more than 171,000 acres of water ideal for sport fishing and boating.
